At Fen Mobility Centre, we're in the unique position of having our very own qualified Occupational Therapist on the team, ready to assist you.

 

Sara, who qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2007, brings 17 years of experience working with adults and older people in the NHS. She's here to help you find the most suitable product to meet your individual needs.

Sara’s ethos is to help and support people, prioritising an individual’s well-being and providing the highest quality of care.

  • Sara has a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy.

  • Sara is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).

  • Sara is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).

 

 

As well as working in our showroom supporting customers, Sara is also available to hire for comprehensive and specialist Occupational Therapy (OT) services.

As a Cambridgeshire OT she has worked in the integrated community services for over 15 years, giving her extensive knowledge of both the health and social care sector. She has an array of expertise with rehabilitation, discharge planning, moving and handling, equipment, minor adaptations, major adaptations and housing.

 

Sara specialises in physical health, with adults and older people. She can work with individuals, care homes, councils, charities and the private sector.

Sara can support with:

  • A home assessment to identify a range of equipment or minor adaptations to meet current and long-term needs.​

  • Advice for specialist equipment or in modifying your home to meet your needs.

  • Complex moving and handling assessments; advising on care plans, recommending equipment and providing training.

  • Hospital discharge; to ensure the safe return home either from hospital, respite bed or care home.

  • Functional rehabilitation.

  • Advice and recommendations for major adaptations to your home, e.g. access, bathrooms, kitchens.

  • An assessment for major adaptations through the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) process.

  • Planning for present and future needs

  • Special housing needs report (SHNR) to support HomeLink applications.

  • Falls prevention.

  • Single handed care reviews for Local Authorities or Care Homes
